The project offers a free and confidential service to women providing:-

  • Information

  • We have a range of leaflets, booklets and factsheets on alcohol related issues available at the drop-ins. We also have a database on other services and local agencies in the borough who can offer support, training, leisure and other activities or we can find other organisations who may be able to support you with underlying problems.

  • Practical Support

  • Willow now has a permanent advocacy worker whose job it is to enable women using our services to obtain their rights and entitlements. This includes supporting women to gain benefit advice, help with housing issues and access to services Any women wanting to speak to our advocacy worker can arrange to do so at the drop ins.   • One to one therapy/counselling

  • Willow has recently appointed two new workers to deliver this service. Both women are fully qualified counsellors / psychotherapists and work with women in individual therapy sessions offering healing and coping strategies for working privately through emotional conflict using self help, psychotherapy, clinical hypnotherapy and counselling.

  • Holistic Healing

  • Willow now offers a range of alternative therapies including Auricular Acupuncture, Reiki, Indian Head Massage, Reflexology, Remedial Massage, Aromatherapy, Beauty Therapy. All these services are provided by provided by qualified specialists and are extremely popular as they encourage the individual to take more responsibility for their health and induce a sense of calm and feelings of well being.

  • Group Support

  • The group sessions are an opportunity for women to share their experiences with other women who are facing similar problems and difficulties to themselves. Discussions can range from sharing information on coping tactics, managing on a low budget, relationship issues or sharing new skills.

  • Activities

  • Through regular group discussion and consultation ideas and suggestions for these are provided by women themselves. Examples of these are aromatherapy, reflexology, laughter workshop, beauty therapy, glass painting, card making, flower arranging and other crafts.
